Welcome

A house you find, rather than hunt for.

Bindergasse 15 and 17: two addresses, one house. The yellow façade stands where the old town is at its narrowest — and it is still only a four-minute walk to the station.

Inside it is quieter than the address suggests. Gilded mirrors in the hallway, natural stone underfoot, a staircase that turns as it climbs. None of it was invented — it simply grew that way.

The self check-in at the terminal is well explained and easy to use. The room was clean and nothing was missing. Large, spacious bathroom; the location is central and still not too noisy. A few minutes’ walk from the station. Fair value for money
Lisa E.Google
The location is perfect! You are at the station, the harbour or the park within minutes. The room was very nicely sized and clean. So was the bathroom! Comfortable beds!
Chris A.Google
We are regulars and keep coming back gladly. Entirely satisfied.
Konstantinus M.Google
We arrived after 6 pm and had all the information about late check-in and where to put the bikes by email. The room itself was very modern and comfortably furnished.

A really lovely hotel, very clean, and in a prime spot for every corner of the little island.

A very lovely small hotel in the heart of Lindau. The rooms are very clean, pretty and cosy. We felt thoroughly at home! Happy to return! Far nicer than any of the chains.
Lutz K.TripAdvisor
A very pretty place for a night on the bike — they have a lockable space for bicycles, tasteful furnishings, right in the old town, thoroughly recommended.

The highlight was our top-floor room, which had not only lovely furnishings but two (!) roof terraces. The view across the rooftops was pure „Mary Poppins“.

Really good. Central, walkable from the station. Quiet, clean room. Absolutely recommended!

A nice small hotel. We had a room with two double beds and a bunk bed. The room was very spacious. Modern bathroom with a generous shower. Very centrally located. Happy to return!

Dining

The restaurant is in the house. Which keeps the walk short.

No need to decide where to eat. Our Amaris — Restaurant & Café cooks in the house, at midday and in the evening, seven days a week.

Dark tables, warm copper light, an open stone wall. Plated with care, not with theatre — dishes you finish rather than dishes you admire.

The same people run a second place: the Amaris Café on Maximilianstraße 21a. More about it

Good to know

Answered in advance.

The questions guests ask us most often before arriving.

Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 11:00. Thanks to self check-in you can still get into the house late in the evening — you do not need anyone at reception.
Yes. Our restaurant Amaris — Restaurant & Café cooks in the house, daily from 12:00 to 16:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00. You can book directly with Amaris or at reception.
We have no bike storage in the house. The Inselhalle has individually lockable bike boxes for 2 € per night — you get the key there.
Unfortunately not. Pets are not permitted at Hotel Anker.
You book, receive your confirmation by e-mail and enter your details in advance — or on site. At the entrance stands our check-in terminal: it issues your room card, around the clock. You wait for nobody, and nobody has to wait for you.
The upper floors are reachable only by stairs. Just tell us in your enquiry if you need a room on a lower floor — we will plan for it.
The old town is on the island and largely car-free — you cannot park right in front of the house. Nearest is the P4 Inselhalle car park (Zwanzigerstraße 6), open around the clock, about eight minutes on foot. For a cheaper option use the park-and-ride lots P1 and P2 on the mainland; a bus runs from there into the old town.
